Keeping Track of Brokers and their Deals

How have people been keeping track of both the brokers they have spoken with and their respective deals? I've seen services that scrap deal sites but sometimes the same broker lists different deals over time and you end up reaching out to them a few times. I've thought about using my regular CRM (Zendesk Sell) but it still seems inefficient and not the best fit to keep track of who you spoke with and what you thought about their deals.

I would recommend a CRM. Hubspot offers a free CRM that integrates with your email so you can keep track of all of your conversations. In addition, you can keep track of each potential deal as a separate record (called Deals in Hubspot). While Excel is super easy/basic, a CRM will offer more features, reporting, etc. It's also customizable with custom fields and processes. https://www.hubspot.com/products/crm

Like several others have said, I utilize an excel spreadsheet. It may seem pretty low tech but it gives me the flexibility to enter the information I need, add items over time, and easily search deals. I've tried using some CRM software but I always find that either I have to choose between paying what I want (or less) and not getting very much or paying more than I want and not seeing the benefit. My advice is save your money and use an excel document.
