Finding the money before an acquisition search will mitigate false starts. The industry is full of false starts. The false start is finding a company to acquire but not having the funds or the appetite of the investors to move forward. This is always a risk with a new firm. One way to mitigate the funding issue is to build an exceptional board of directors for the search and negotiations portion of the process. And there are additional factors to consider.
