Following the wisdom of a number of other searchers in the community, I'm putting together a small group of 5-10 self funded searchers to serve as peer-to-peer mentoring group throughout our respective journeys. I'm likely targeting meeting at least bi-weekly to once a month in NYC and am looking for a few additional searchers with the following criteria: -Self-funded -Fully committed to acquiring/operating a business ASAP and have taken concrete steps towards such -Eager to both support others as well as leverage the group for support Shoot me a DM with a bit about you, your search, and your interest if it sounds like you would be a good fit and we can go from there!

^redacted‌, I'd be interested in chatting about this. I'm already gradually building a network of folks in the NYC area (like me) in similar situations. My peers include fellow MBA and college friends in corporate jobs, as well as a couple industry experts (e.g. Automotive) and formerly successful searchers who are now back in corporate America. Happy to chat with you and your group! I think personally the next thing I need to work on is better branding (website, logo, letterhead), and developing more proprietary leads (e.g. through direct-mail). I am seeing a few interesting deals on BizBuySell, Baton, and brokerage sites. They are all on the smaller end of the market ($350K-$1M SDE). Just submitted my first IOI recently, because it's a deal that is really well-priced and within my target industry. We'll see how it goes... ^redacted‌ thank you for the mentions!
