Jim Sharpe recommended speaking to folks who spent time looking for a deal, but did not end up finding a suitable business. I think this is good advice and would appreciate introductions to individuals who did not close to hear some of their war stories. This might be a sensitive topic, so please PM me!

To be fair, I haven't spoken to any self-funded searchers that did not acquire so can't make a comparison, but for the traditional searcher it sounded like it was good to have investors who supported you and saw your "performance", and they can be helpful in figuring out next steps.

I looked for Search Funds that had been operating 2+ years and when I connected some told me they were actually winding down or had already exited. I agree, I think you will get a different perspective which is very helpful as you decide to take the next steps.
