Hi everyone,

Aside from IBISWorld what other tools can be leveraged for industry market research and financial data including precedent transactions?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the tag, ^redacted‌! In addition to the IBISWorld, BVR, and data axle resources provided on searchfunder.com, I find the following useful: crunchbase.com, dun & bradstreet (dnb.com), opencorporates.com, LexisNexis Public Records, NYU Stern enterprise value multiples by Sector by Aswath Damodaran at https://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~adamodar/New_Home_Page/datafile/vebitda.html (his website https://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~adamodar/ provides a wealth of information), Experian (https://www.experian.com/small-business/business-credit-reports), Equifax (https://www.equifax.com/business/product/business-credit-reports/), and Nav (https://www.nav.com/business-credit-scores/). For market research, there are often specialized market research firms that have reports for specific markets available to those interested in those specific markets.

Consulting Firms often publish market deep dives that I find insightful. Small specialized M&A Brokers publish often research from the M&A view with full blown peer companies and multiples etc that are super helpful for search funds! Other than that, in PE we used to have access to Gain.Pro. I still have many of the research pdfs and publish many of them as well as my own research in my free weekly newsletter here: https://searchfundinsights.substack.com/subscribe!

For transactions in a certain space there is MergerMarkets, which I don't have access to anymore, however, some of my interns do through their business school access.

Any specific market you need?
