Muse by Meta: A Personal AI Agent That Acts on Its Own
Muse is a personal AI agent that Meta launched in the US and Canada in September. It goes further than a chatbot that answers questions. A user gives Muse a goal, and it builds a plan and carries out the work, checking back for permission before it spends money. What The Tool Does? - Works toward a goal: Muse turns a stated goal into a personalized plan, coordinates the time and resources needed, then advances the work on its own. - Acts on the user’s behalf: It can open a browser, fill in forms and negotiate on the user’s behalf. - Runs across devices: It is available as an iOS and Android app, on the web, and through WhatsApp. - Free up to 100 million tokens a week, which covers most everyday use. The current launch only covers US and Canada, users outside these markets cannot try it yet. Why It Matters Time spent on scheduling, follow-ups and form-filling can move to the agent, leaving more time for judgement work and review. Since its a newly launched tool, test it on a non-confidential goal, such as planning travel to an industry conference. Track how many steps it completes without help, where it stops to ask for permission (e.g., bookings, payments), and what accounts it requests access to. Explore the tool here- redacted
