It’s not only search funds that earn that kind of return. Individual buyers of SMBs, knowing how, do it, too. Individuals can act more quickly and decisively because they don’t have get approval from investors. (Which is why some brokers, for example, won’t deal with search funds.)

It helps to have acquisition financing on standby, to commit sellers and expedite closing.
