Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for sponsors that are open to searchers without an MBA and have more professional experience than a traditional searcher (think 10+ years). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This depends on the search thesis and overall 'fit' between the searcher/management team's background to the industry. To get sponsor financing on a single deal you still need to demonstrate your ability to 1) find strong deal flow, 2) negotiate and price a deal correctly, and 3) manage operations for growth with an understanding of the business and takeover transitions. The degree or finance background doesn't matter if you're missing any of these three things and the best an MBA does is say you've gone to school to learns some aspect of these. It's all about the thesis and team alignment. If you have that - PM me with a pitch!

Broadtree is very open to more experienced and non MBA searchers and have had a number of non MBA/more experienced folks that have searched and acquired businesses with us. Happy to hop on a call.
