Hi,

Has any Non US citizen acquired a US business ? SBA doesn't give loan to non - US citizens, unless they partner with a US citizen/ Green card holder and have them own > 50% of the business. Has anyone been successful in getting a commercial loan for acquisition while holding to majority equity and putting down 10-20% ?

I'm a Canadian citizen and would love to connect and get some guidance!

I’ve worked with a large number of non-US persons, who are acquiring business interest in the United States. It’s more a function of structuring the holding company. In terms of operational control, language is very context specific. I have 20 years experience with cross border transaction such as this.

I would strongly suggest that we speak, so I can get more information, and provide a tailored solution. redacted (###-###-####

^redacted‌ thank you for taking me. We have done several deals via SBA financing where the non-US Citizen has owned less than 50%. But outside of that we have struggled to get any lenders to do transactions for non-US citizens, whether conventional banks or non-bank lenders, at least not without significant equity (you are talking like 50%). Sorry we cannot be of more help here.
