What are the online resources to find businesses (apart from going through individual brokers and directly approaching owners). I know about bizbuysell.com, loopnet, axial, acquire.com. Are there any others that others have found quality deals in?

There's plenty of brokers and platforms out there that are relatively easy to find, Kumo is an aggregator, Axial, BuyBizSell, etc. At the end of the day, the best deals come from proprietary sourced deals. If you have warm leads in a space, that's great, if not, figure out what type of business you want to buy and start building lead lists. You want an HVAC business? Look at local HVAC listings, scrape info from yelp/google reviews, if you have some money, an investment in a platform like Grata/Sourcescrub is helpful, I've had good success using outsourced labor to build lists, etc. After that, emails, calls, texts, etc. The best deal is going to be one that isn't in a competitive process. Aside from that, develop close relationships with brokers, represent yourself as a serious buyer with a specific thesis, and hopefully over time, they'll start to think of you.
