Does anyone have good tips/advice for connecting with operating partners and/or advisors to help with running a business post-acquisition? I would think GLG / Alphasights and other expert networks are good sources for those types of contacts, though very pricey...

The best operating partners I've worked with tended to be executives with 25+ years in your target industry, most of which should be as a GM, sales leader, or senior strategist. They're usually not hard to find... get on LinkedIn and start talking with senior folks within the industry... or get out to a trade show. Start looking for super-connectors... everyone will know them. Within the super-connectors, start filtering for operational expertise - who's a social butterfly vs. truly "gets stuff done"...
