Operational Complexity of Landscaping Businesses?

It seems like landscaping businesses are popular among searchers. I'm intrigued by this space, but concerned that operations are not that straightforward, and that it wouldn't be that easy for an outsider to pick up. Landscaping includes design, architecture, construction, etc., all of which seem complicated.

Anyone have thoughts on the operational complexity in landscaping? Also, beyond the usual factors like industry fragmentation, low customer concentration, and recurring revenues, why are they so popular among searchers?
