Hiring is one of the most consequential things you'll do as a business owner — and one of the least talked about in the acquisition community. We spent years on the operator side (mainly in high-growth startups) before ever buying a business, and have interviewed, hired, and and managed hundreds of people across firms. We've seen what great teams look like, what bad hires cost, and how quickly culture can make or break a business that's changing hands. In this session we'll walk through the full hiring process from scratch — where to actually find candidates, how to write a job post that attracts the right people, what to look for in an interview, and how to make an offer that sticks. If you've never hired anyone before, this is the session to start with. If you have, you'll probably still pick up a few things we learned the hard way.
