Operator Exploring Next Step

Hi all — I’m currently the COO at a family-run home services business where I’ve spent the last year helping modernize operations and build systems to support growth. Over that time we’ve made significant operational changes across systems, reporting, processes, and organizational structure, and have grown the business incrementally along the way. The owner is now relatively satisfied with the current size and pace of the business, while I’ve realized I’m increasingly motivated by environments with a stronger appetite for scaling and operational evolution. Before this role, I started my own company and also helped lead operational transformation initiatives within several startups. I haven’t directly worked on acquisitions before so not sure if that disqualifies me from any PE backed roles. I’m geographically constrained, so a traditional search hasn’t really been realistic for me, and I’m still evaluating whether a self-funded search is the right path. At this point I’m mainly looking to connect with operators, sponsors, investors, or others who have navigated similar transitions and would be willing to share advice on potential paths forward.
