Would love to hear about people’s experience with securing funds for companies acquired/launched in opportunity zones. I went to a groundbreaking for a colleagues project yesterday, and it was being lauded by the DC Mayor and others as the way forward in community and economy development. Met the CEO for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and he’s got a $20B fund on the hunt for these projects to revitalize communities.

The OZ market has great potential and DC is a great market for the program, yet the criteria are very restrictive. I've worked with LISC and Arctaris, another OZ-focused fund, and would be happy to share thoughts. You can reach me at redacted

OZ are great way to raise $$ but it all comes down to the underlying investment. It’s also somewhat technical (and potentially restrictive) so make sure you budget for good tax/audit firm. Look into Novogradac - they are the maker leader for OZ compliance.
