I'm looking for advice or referrals for a personalized email campaign targeting business owners. I'm not a fan of AI-automated email outreach, as I don't think the personalization is quite good enough. Please let me know if you have any good ideas or referrals for someone who can run an effective outreach campaign. Thanks!

IMO the best way to personalize an outreach campaign is to...you know...personalize it. :)

That's hard to do when you outsource the outreach to someone else. Outsourcers are great for a shotgun approach and AI is great for a spray and pray model, but AI isn't broadly available yet that can perfectly imitate you and your personality.

Spending time researching targets so you can show you did your homework is important. Even more important though is coming up with your unique voice and value proposition to a seller. What makes you stand out from the multitudes already reaching out to these owners and wasting their time? Why would a conversation with you be beneficial to them in a way no other person would be? Or at least more interesting? If you can't identify that first, then you might as well go with AI and a mass spam approach since volume can somewhat make up for lack of personalization.

Also, I think email is probably the least personable method of outreach anyone can choose. Everyone automates email and our guard is automatically up when we get an unrequested email. So many communication channels available and everyone picks email because it's the easy button....even if it's not the effective button.

There are many companies that can help you with this. I would start looking on Upwork as there are a zillion consultants that can do it on there. We set up our campaign internally with some minor help from our IT consultant. Seamless.ai to create the lists with contact information. Saleshandy to administer the email campaigns and email warmup. You'll want to register different domain names from the one you use for your primary communications. For instance we registered sm2advisors.net which is different from the sm2advisors.com that we use for normal communications. Saleshandy has great built in tools that help you structure your email to optimize deliverability rates and helps you track same. Utilize A/B testing to determine which messaging works best. That being said, We did this for 4-5 months and generated a number of leads through the campaign but a large percentage of them were businesses that were not cash flowing very well, if at all. Good luck!
