All - does anyone have insight into the following as it relates to NY and NJ? Would appreciate if you could also point me to any public sources. For context, I have a background in finance and operations and I'm looking to acquire a plumbing business ($500K - $1M of EBITDA).

1) Licensing requirements (e.g., % ownership required to be held by licensed plumber, can non-license holder own a plumbing business, etc.,)
2) Labor market dynamic (e.g., # of plumbers in the state, new graduates, retirees, average wage by plumber level, etc.,)
3) List of competitors - I've tried Googling, but wanted to see if there are any more exhaustive resources available

Thank you!

^redacted‌ I have couple of companies i have been looking at. My understanding is that operator must be a master plumber to keep the license in place but the ownership can be owned by non plumber. Are you are you self funded ? Are you looking at any potential partners in the transaction?

Hi Sean. I was once interested in acquiring a Plumbing Business in NY and was told by a business advisor that County Regulations (Westchester County) require that at least 51%of the company be owned by a Master Plumber. Not sure if this is at the state or county level.
