Does anyone have experience in the portable toilet rental business? I could use some guidance on a few items (i. e. projected cap ex, margin expectations, etc.). I would also like to hear from someone in the group that has experience dealing with and bidding on government contracts in this space. Thanks in advance for any information!

Jesse

Thanks for tag ^redacted‌. I am in a different space (dumpster rentals), but have been looking into porta rentals as a complement to my current business. Based on due diligence on some deals that came my way, the porta business has lower capex base and equal if not higher margins than dumpsters. The challenge is to find a large enough business to acquire -- its a very fragmented market. Most of the larger ones have been rolled up, or seem to be family run operations that have no interest in selling since they are cash cows.
Govt bids are a good avenue if willing to deal with the process pains (have tried it for dumpsters) and lower margins. Seems like a common strategy is to collaborate with an 8a minority certified business for govt bids
