Heritage Harbor is looking to hire 3-4 part-time analyst or associate interns for a 16-week internship beginning in mid-late August. The interns will work directly with the Founder & Managing Partner on industry research, deal sourcing, outreach, due diligence, and valuation. High performers may have the opportunity to extend the internship and take on additional responsibilities such as recruiting, onboarding, and managing incoming interns.
Compensation: The internship is unpaid so you must be an enrolled student receiving course credit. The Managing Partner is serious about assisting in professional development, including but not limited to writing recommendations, reviewing resumes, conducting mock/case interviews, and facilitating introductions within her network.
Duration: 16 weeks starting mid/late August, 15-20 hours per week
Location: We have a strong preference for San Diego-based interns who can come to the office 1-2 days per week for in-person training/mentorship and team-building activities. Our office is in the Little Italy, San Diego, area near fun restaurants, shops, and trolley stops.
Role Responsibilities, Commensurate with Experience:
- Investment Thesis Development: Identify and research into attractive investment theses at both the macroeconomic and industry level
- Sourcing: Develop prospective target company lists based upon findings, send tailored outreach to business owners and drive follow-ups, and maintain internal databases/CRM as deals move through the process
- Due Diligence: Support key due diligence workstreams such as market and trend analysis, competitor benchmarking, financial statement analysis, and operational assessments
- Transactions: Build models using company financials, perform scenario analysis, and make valuation and/or structuring recommendations
- Operations: Continuously monitor and improve processes, propose creative solutions to operational challenges, and automate whatever aspects of the job are lowest value

- Preferred: Familiar with CRM, sales/prospecting tools, project management software, Excel/Google Sheets, basic finance and accounting concepts
