Private Equity Intern - M&A Sourcing Location: Remote / New York preferred Duration: 10–40 hours/week (flexible) Start Date: June 1, 2026 About Us: We are an entrepreneur-led investment platform focused on acquiring and scaling healthcare services businesses through a long-term hold strategy. Backed by an operator mindset, we partner with founders to build enduring companies that improve care delivery, expand access, and drive sustainable growth. You will work directly with the Founder across sourcing strategy, outreach, and early-stage deal evaluation, with visibility into the full acquisition process. Our current focus includes sectors related to supporting an aging population both at home or at healthcare institutions. Role Overview: This is a high-ownership role - you will not be doing busy work. You will be responsible for building real pipeline, engaging directly with business owners, and contributing to live deal opportunities. What Success Looks Like Build a high-quality pipeline of qualified acquisition targets Generate consistent response rates from outbound outreach Develop a strong understanding of our investment criteria Contribute meaningfully to live deal opportunities Key Responsibilities Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Development Build and maintain lists of acquisition targets (e.g., home care agencies, healthcare service providers) Conduct market mapping across geographies and sub-sectors Identify business owners and decision-makers using tools like LinkedIn, PitchBook, and state licensing databases Outbound Outreach Communicate directly with business owners via email and phone (when appropriate) Draft and send personalized email campaigns to business owners Track outreach efforts and responses in CRM (e.g., Notion, Airtable, HubSpot) Iterate on messaging to improve response rates Market Research & Screening Conduct initial research on companies (services, size, ownership, reputation) Support preliminary screening based on investment criteria (revenue, margins, geography, payer mix) Summarize findings in concise deal briefs Special Projects Analyze industry trends (e.g., home care fragmentation, PACE Programs) Support development of sourcing strategies and theses Assist with CRM buildout and automation workflows What You’ll Learn How proprietary deal sourcing actually works in ETA and private equity How to evaluate small business acquisition opportunities Healthcare services market dynamics and fragmentation strategies Founder-level decision-making and execution in a live search How to assess acquisition opportunities using real-world criteria (size, margins, growth, risk) Desired Traits Extreme ownership mindset Comfort with ambiguity Strong attention to detail Persistence / grit Entrepreneurial mindset Qualifications Strong interest in investing, ETA, startups, or healthcare Highly organized with strong attention to detail Comfort with outbound outreach and a willingness to develop sales skills is critical for success in this role. Strong written communication skills Self-starter who can work independently Nice to Have Experience with Excel / Google Sheets, CRM tools, or data scraping Familiarity with healthcare services or SMBs Prior internship in consulting, banking, startups, or search funds Compensation This is an unpaid, high-exposure role designed for candidates seeking hands-on experience in entrepreneurship through acquisition Direct mentorship from the Founder and exposure to live deal sourcing, outreach, and evaluation For top performers: strong references and ongoing support for future roles, investing opportunities, or graduate school applications Why This Role Direct exposure to an active acquisition platform High ownership and real responsibility (not busy work) Top performers may have the opportunity to continue working with us through the acquisition process and potentially transition into a full-time role post-acquisition.
