Private Equity Intern (Unpaid Internship) Location: Remote / Flexible Type: Part-Time or Full-Time, Unpaid Internship Duration: Flexible (Summer / Semester / Custom) North Country Holdings - a small Darien, CT based Private Equity firm - seeks interns for research, deal analysis, and portfolio company management. About Us: We are a private investment firm led by two partners with backgrounds in investment banking, general management, principal investing, and degrees from top-tier business schools. Our team also includes three accomplished operating partners—former CEOs with proven track records of driving growth in B2B services and industrial products businesses. We focus on identifying, acquiring, and building great companies in the lower middle market. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in private equity investing. This is an exceptional opportunity for a student or recent graduate to learn directly from seasoned investors and operators. The intern will support the investment team and operating partners across a broad range of responsibilities and will be exposed to the full lifecycle of deal evaluation, execution, and portfolio management. Responsibilities: Conduct industry and company research to support deal sourcing and due diligence Assist in building financial models and performing valuation analyses Help prepare investment memos, presentations, and internal documentation Support CRM management, pipeline tracking, and outreach initiatives Participate in internal strategy discussions and external meetings with management teams, advisors, and intermediaries Collaborate on special projects related to firm development and operational improvements Qualifications: Strong interest in private equity, finance, or entrepreneurship Solid analytical and research skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Proficiency with data analysis and using technology and AI to streamline processes and improve efficiency Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-starter with attention to detail and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment The internship can be full time for the summer and continue throughout the school year. We seek both undergrad and MBA students. The minimum commitment is 10 hours a week. You will work directly for the firm’s principals and be exposed to all aspects of the fund’s operation including live deals, transactions, portfolio company operations, and fund management.
