Private Equity Internship (Associate & Analyst)

Private Equity Internship We are hiring at 2 different levels: • 1 Associate – MBA Level (Mentorship) • 1 Analyst – Undergraduate About Crux Capital Partners is a private equity fund (“Search Fund”) formed to identify, acquire and operate a small to medium sized business in Australia. • The partners are MBA graduates from HEC Paris (Top 10 globally) with backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, and management consulting. The fund is backed by a group of local and international investors, such as venture capital/private equity veterans, business operators, and industry experts. Overview of the Role Analyst • We expect that you will develop fundamental knowledge of the process of how middle market companies are acquired and sold. You will also gain an understanding of the various participants involved in an acquisition and the motivating factors driving their behavior. This role will suit undergraduates with career aspirations in entrepreneurship, finance, and/or investments. Associate • If you're targeting private equity or considering launching your own Search Fund after your MBA, this would be a great step for you. This is an opportunity to gain leadership skills and provide mentorship to the junior members of the team. We are open to local candidates (Melbourne or Gold Coast) but also open to others globally who have proven to effectively manage a small team and deliverables across time zones. Key Responsibilities: • Managing Teams: manage and develop junior team members, delegating where necessary • Industry Research: understand key drivers & business models for selected industries • Investment Sourcing: produce communication for reaching out to targeted businesses • Company Analysis: help identify potential acquisition opportunities • Investment Recommendations: review information on potential acquisitions and develop an investment thesis (may include building financial models and confidential information memos) • Participation: join us in meetings and calls with investment bankers and business owners • Learning: engage with the Partners on the ins-and-outs of private equity and Search Funds Ideal Candidate • Committed: if you commit to something, do it – and do it well • Relentless: will not take “no” for an answer, also able to dig deep for information not widely available • Excellent communication skills: confident to place and take calls with senior business contacts • Meticulous, high attention to detail: there is very little room for error • Team player: Fun, good sense of humor, responsible: someone who can work with us – not for us • Master (Associate): strong financial modelling and valuation skills, including LBOs • Managing Teams (Associate): managing and being responsible for junior team members, delegating where necessary Further Details • Location: Remote (Australian and global candidates), local candidates (Melbourne or Gold Coast) can join us face to face • Part-time: 10-20 hours per week, flexible • Duration: 10-12 weeks, can be extended • Pay: these roles are unpaid internships / mentorships To apply, please send your CV and short introduction to redacted by answering the following questions: 1.
