Hello,

Does anyone know of any lawyers that could review a purchase agreement? I was just looking for someone to get a second set of eyes on the contract and make any recommendations- I've spoken to a few lawyers so far who are quoting me for a pretty large time commitment

If you pin down exactly what you want the lawyer to do, you should be able to get a fixed fee for the review. For example, if I were in your position, I would tell the lawyer I want the following:

1. Lawyer reads the document.
2. Lawyer provides written issues list (you should be clear if you want comprehensive treatment, or for them to simply flag the major red flags/land mines!)
3. Lawyer has a follow-up conversation to talk through the issues list (if money is really tight, maybe you can skip #3).

You should be able to get this done for a fixed fee. If it were me (I'm a lawyer) I would want to see the document I'm reviewing first, and then I'd provide a quote for the above steps.

Hope you were able to get a good review done for a reasonable price.
