Is anyone else getting worried about the likelihood of a slow-down/recession in the next 3-9 months? I am a self-funded searcher and debating whether to temporarily go back to full-time contract consulting to increase my savings and hopefully get clarity on what the economy will look like by end of the calendar year. Above all, I would like to avoid buying something only to have cash flow fall of a cliff...

It's a complete waste of time to stay up all night worrying about these topics. Good deals are made no matter what the external or internal circumstances, or you name it. Learn how successful and profitable dealmakers source and do deals; don't waste time listening to people trying to find deals who don't complete worthwhile deals. Business school thinking needs to be left at business school.

I don't know how old you are but I've been fortunate enough to experience the 2008/2009 as an adult. Covid actually altered the recession cycle and we're overdue. Depending on how old the business is, you can easily check to see how the industry faired as a whole back then. Of course, this be another data point after cash flow covering debt and other due diligence. Good luck !
