Recommendations for Short Term Capital to close a deal
I would love to hear advise from the community. I've found a delightful target for my self-funded search in a young (~2yr old) business that the seller is wanting to close on by EoY for tax purposes.
While the business is SBA eligible, the timeline and young age combined pretty much rule out possibilities of a successful SBA backed loan in his target timeframe. Knowing that, he accepted my proposal for seller financing (70%). The business is very cash flow positive, averaging ~75% net profit each month and debt obligations are easily covered in the cash flow.
Where I need advise is in securing the cash for close on my portion. My search intentions has been to use cash+HELOC+ROBS in whatever combination to execute a SBA backed deal when I identified my target, but the timeline for this opportunity would be at risk of delay using those now.
Quick details:
- biz started as a side project, quickly blossomed
- a very, very niche, professional services delivery business
- expense light, all remote contracted employees
- seller proposed closing mid-October, so far no red-flags in my ongoing DD process
- I'm targeting access to $250k-300k in short term capital
I'm open to short term capital loans with a 12 month payback. And/or equity positions for funding advisors with experience scaling professional services delivery companies. And, anything else :-)
