What You’ll Gain: Practical Experience – Learn how to analyze industries, identify acquisition opportunities, and refine outreach processes. Skill Development – Gain hands-on experience in research, communication, and problem-solving - key skills for roles in investing, consulting, and business strategy. Exposure to the Acquisition Process – Understand how businesses are evaluated and approached in the early stages of an M&A process. As Australia is a shallow market, in the first month you will have the opportunity to cut across industries quickly and work from industry research, lead generation and filtering to campaign customisation and follow-up. This will get you up to speed with the latest software, systems and processes used for proprietary outreach. After the first month, if you're keeping pace and learning and enjoying the internship, you'll move into deal analysis and potentially assist with DD work. This isn't an internship with pure grunt work - we outsource that - you'll be brought on for your critical thinking ability, enthusiasm and drive. You must be self-driven and won't last on the project if you cannot be relied on to learn independently (we use Loom videos for training), do what you say you will do, and seek out opportunities to learn and contribute. There isn't micro-management, and we're a remote team operating off slack - you will be provided with clear guidance on deliverables, coaching and access to everything you need to make a real impact and take away a valuable learning experience. This is an unpaid internship designed for those eager to gain practical experience in business acquisitions, industry research, and outreach strategies, where they are aiming for a career in IB/PE and, or M&A - or possibly want to buy and build their own business in the future.
