Does anyone have experience buying or investing in these companies? What would you ask a potential seller?

Customer type and revenue profile is a major variable in these companies. They can be volatile and seasonal depending in the customer. I’ve come across a few that were locked into the resource sector for example that experienced major swings year-to-year. Also get into the details on the operational model. Some of their jobs can have wildly different unit economics depending on travel requirements, equipment and inventory profile changes and variety of tasks performed. The good news is that they tend to have sticky employees, margins can be solid and operations are simple. But finding and holding high quality customers is the challenge.
