Some of us do not come from an operating background. Do you have any resources (books, systems, programs) that have helped you or others learn to be a better organized and systemized operator? For example, I have heard good things about the Entrepreneurial Operating System (https://www.eosworldwide.com/), but curious what other resources people have found helpful.

I want to highlight EOS and 2nd/3rd support the above comments. I come from a Lean background at Danaher with their Danaher Business System and EOS is a good, streamlined version of that. Also, check out Andy Grove's book, High Output Management: https://www.amazon.com/High-Output-Management-Andrew-Grove/dp/###-###-#### /ref=sr_1_1?keywords=andy+grove+high+output+management&qid=###-###-#### &sprefix=Andy+grove%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-1

But most importantly, set up your reviews and management engagement to physical happen where the value is happening. For example, if you're reviewing on time delivery, go to each specific manufacturing cell and engage w/ the operators. If you're looking at bookings, create a visual tool to engage all the sales reps and CSRs on a video conference at the same time every week. As a manager, bring the action to the people creating the value, it'll go a long way.

In addition to the comments here, you can find videos by searching for S.O.S. on the past events page. That stands for Searchfunder Operations Session. We did one session on the self-implementation of EOS for instance. I've also collected the books recommended by searchers. You can filter the list by the operating, managing and leadership tags: https://www.searchfunder.com/post/beta-test-reading-list-for-acquisition-entrepreneurs
