We anticipate increased support for manufacturing businesses and tighter underwriting standards, possibly returning to older practices where the SBA had stricter rules and fewer flexible options for banks. There will likely be more scrutiny and a reintroduction of the higher guarantee fees that helped the SBA remain self-sustaining for so long. An increase in the SBA loan cap could be on the way, as the last time this happened was back in 2010.

Great question. Nothing at the moment is forecasted. The current administration is very pro-business and the new Director of the SBA announced support for on-going lending programs. The hope is there could be some expansion to the program in the future, but nothing official has come out. If it does we will get updates out here.
