Hi all,

My question feels a little silly but I'll ask anyway
I've using a Delaware-incorporated sole proprietor LLC for my self-funded search -
What is an appropriate legal structure that searchers typically use given elements such as
--> Multiple stockholders
--> Acquisition of the assets of the target LLC
Maybe a different way to phrase this is - Can you recommend lawyers who will start me off in the right direction (at reasonable upfront cost)

A Delaware LLC is commonly used to raise a fund. My firm, Groundswell Advisors LLP (groundswell.law), is focused on this space, and I would be happy to discuss your specific circumstances. Feel free to DM me here, or email me at redacted That said, if you haven't already done so, you may first want to read the the Stanford Search Fund Primer (available online). It's a wealth of information and will help you better understand what's involved in raising a fund and completing your first acquisition. Let me know if you want to speak after that.
