About Heron Peak Capital We are searching for a privately held business to acquire and operate long term, with a focus on maritime services, sensors, and water-technology sectors — industries where technology and recurring revenue create resilient growth. This internship offers an inside look at entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA). What You’ll Do 1. Research industries and companies that fit our acquisition criteria. 2.Build and refine lists of target businesses and owner contacts. 3. Run compliant outreach (email, LinkedIn, calls) and schedule intro calls with owners. 4. Prepare one-page summaries and short briefs for investor or seller discussions. What You’ll Learn 1.How private equity investors source and evaluate acquisition opportunities. 2.Hands-on experience with real company data, outreach tools, and AI-assisted workflows. 3. Exposure to the acquisition process from initial contact to evaluation. Ideal Profile 1.Undergraduate student 2.Curious, analytical 3.Comfortable doing independent research and repetitive data tasks 4.Strong written communication and organizational skills. 5.Interest in technology, automation, and AI tools is a plus.
