Cavan Legacy Capital is a small Los Angeles based private investment firm seeking interns for research, deal and financial analysis, and company outreach. CLC is a newly founded investment firm that seeks to invest, operate and grow at least one small-to-medium sized businesses in the greater Los Angeles area. The Managing Partner at CLC is a graduate of Boston College and Columbia Business School with Dean’s Honors and Distinction. He has a background in middle market private equity and in management consulting. Description of Analyst Role The internship will involve a hands-on learning experience with many of the core activities involved with running a startup private equity firm. You will work directly with the Managing Partner and have exposure to live deals and transactions. An Analyst should expect to develop a fundamental knowledge of the process by which middle market and lower middle market companies are bought and sold. Analysts will also gain a working understanding of the industry participants involved in middle market transactions and the motivating factors driving their behavior. Details of Analyst Role • Review, analyze and provide recommendations on potential deals/companies for investment based on assessment of financials, company and industry dynamics • Research and identify attractive industries • Find and email / call companies for potential investments based on CLC’s investment criteria • Potentially financial analysis and modeling • Participation in phone calls with investment bankers and business owners • Mentorship from CLC’s Managing Partner and weekly meetings to discuss progress • Monthly sessions with the Managing Partner to discuss various aspects of private equity investing including financial modeling and the M&A process • Pay / Sponsorship: Unpaid internship • Hours per Week: 12-15 hours/week • Duration: September 8 – December 11 • Location: Remote Who Should Apply • Highly motivated candidates who have a strong and proven interest in the fields of private equity, finance, search funds, entrepreneurship, consulting or business development. • Candidates who have a natural curiosity for how businesses work, a tenacious attitude towards research, are resourceful and have the ability to think independently. • Applicants should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree at a top-tier institution.
