Do you think, it is important for searchers to have a website.

If so, what is the benefit you think having a website brings to you?

It depends on the end-goal of your search. Are you looking for a single company to buy and operate? Then I think a solid, well put together LinkedIn profile with your search criteria and experience is probably sufficient. However, if you're looking to acquire multiple companies as a business, a searcher website would definitely help with your credibility as an acquisition entrepreneur and can showcase your investment/advisory team. It's very inexpensive to create a searcher website and you have nothing to lose by creating one. Here is a recent Searchfunder post that has a ton of searcher websites and resources listed: https://www.searchfunder.com/post/examples-of-self-funded-searcher-websites

I think it is important to own a domain name for sure, so you can have a company email address. Personally, I feel it's better to invest a little more into a site, because I believe a low-quality site could indicate "cheapness" - I am probably a little biased, due to my involvement in the web industry, but I would say it is better to have no website at all, and point your domain name to a well structured LinkedIn profile VS running a cheap, low-quality website. As a searcher, not selling a service or product, pointing to a LinkedIn profile would be more than sufficient.
