My husband and I are embarking on ETA in a way that appears somewhat unconventional. I will be leading the search and he will be taking over the business operation after acquisition. Of course, both of us will be involved on either side of the deal, but this is how we are structuring our partnership as it allows us to each lean in to our own areas of expertise. I'm wondering if this type of arrangement is as unusual as it seems (I can't find many stories of people doing ti that way), and, if so, is there a reason? Anything we should be mindful of? Anyone here executed a search this way?

I have seen search/operator partnerships. In those deals, the searcher received and acquisition fee at close and an equity stake in the operating entity with the operator receiving the remainder less search fund equity stake.

That makes total sense - thanks for sharing!
