I'm in the process of learning more about the search fund process. I currently work in cybersecurity and would ideally like to stay in this industry. I recognize this industry will demand higher multiples and might be less compatible with the search fund model. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the challenges or opportunities of buying a company in the cybersecurity space?

Thanks,
Terence

Terence - spent some time looking at cybersecurity companies earlier in my search. My takeaway is that many of the companies with a differentiated product/service were either holding out for big multiples from PE or had some sort of institutional capital already. In addition to the multplies issue you spotlighted, I ran into a large number of companies who struggled to explain how they won work vs. competitors which was very concerning. I'm sure as an industry insider you will have better view of what differentiates good companies from more "me-too" players.
