Searching in "No Man's Land"?
Hi Folks,
I'm a self-funded searcher, actively seeking B2B services businesses in the creative & live events industries (eg. AV rental, event staffing, conservation framing, art storage, etc.) in the Northeastern US (NY/NJ, primarily), doing ~$1-1.5M in EBITDA.
I'm only 3 months into the process in earnest, but I'm struggling to achieve steady deal flow within this range -- Main Street brokers tend to have far less of these opportunities and they are on the lower end for true LMM M&A advisories (eg. Benchmark), so I find that pickings can be slim there too. As a result, I'm doubling down on a proprietary search process, but would love if anyone in a similar position navigating "no man's land" has any tips or insight that they can share with me to aid in my search. Should I consider a different approach or do I just need to keep chugging along?
Cheers,
Tev
