I'm looking for recommendations on a branding agency (or freelancer) that would be a great fit for a Medical Spa. We paid a $500 deposit to an agency several months ago and are scheduled to kick off with them in about a month, but I'm exploring more affordable options. They're charging over $8k just for the brand design package. Curious if that's in line with market rates or if we can find better value elsewhere. Here's what their deliverables include: -Zoom video discovery call -Brand intake questionnaire -Brand strategy + creative direction -Logo variations + mockups -Typography system -Color palette -Image curation -Icon & website favicon -Business card -Brand guidelines + asset delivery Ideally, we're seeking an agency or individual with relevant experience in the med spa, wellness, or beauty industry (e.g., not someone specialized in home services branding). If you've had a positive experience with someone who'd align well with a med spa, please share!

$8k is below the market rate for projects we’ve executed across multiple markets, whether working with agencies or independents. It’s also worth noting the significant difference between brand strategy and visual strategy and this project falls into the latter. Category specific knowledge can be a double edged sword. It’s often more important to evaluate how a potential partner's past work was grounded in strategy rather than focusing solely on their industry history. There are plenty of examples of visual identity chop shops out there. Also ensure their "look" aligns with your vision before signing as most groups tend to have a specific aesthetic. Many firms aren't as visually differentiated as they proclaim unless they are bringing in freelance illustrators, etc. to complement the project.

Hey ^redacted‌, I lead a branding & web design agency, and we've helped several Searchfunder members rebrand. The package you're describing is super complete, and if the agency has a good track record, the price sounds right. The only thing I'd say is missing for it to be a top notch offer is messaging, tone of voice & a custom GPT/Claude (lots of agencies forget that while design can grab attention, it's the copywriting that converts). If it is too expensive and/or too complete, you can ask them to build a smaller offer for you, so that you only get the basics to start out. I'm assuming you don't want to lose your deposit, so I'm happy to jump on a call and help you figure out what you can negotiate with them to get a better package depending on your current needs - Here's a link to my calendar: https://www.quaandry.com/en/contact
