I'm seeking to acquire a medical optometry group and have verbal interest from one PE firm to fund the acquisition. This is a roll-up strategy with one initial anchor acquisition followed by smaller tuck-ins plus beachhead acquisitions in neighboring geographies. Exit plan is to sell in 3-5 years to larger eye care platform or middle market PE buyer looking to acquire a platform of their own. My background is from McKinsey and a $90+ billion PE firm where I've diligenced and invested in a few eye care businesses and other multi-site healthcare businesses. I'm reaching out here in the hopes of connecting with anyone who could support -- e.g. hot leads on deals, interested investors, brokers, etc.

High-level target characteristics:

- A group of optometry practices, ideally $2-5m EBITDA but will look at smaller and bigger.
- Heavier emphasis on medical optometry (vision tests and some eye procedures) than on retail optometry (frame, lens, and contact lens sales). No or limited revenue from ophthalmology (more advanced eye treatments and surgeries) at time of acquisition with vertical integration into ophthalmology and ASC over the hold period.
- Strong reputation and financial performance.

Please message me / add me on LinkedIn and we can set up a time to speak.

Thanks! ^redacted

Hi Felix
My partner's brother is working for a fund doing the same basic thing. I do know of someone in the optical business who knows a lot of people, locations etc in the optical wear business. He might be a good point of contact. If interested email me

You should consider looking into Alpine's (private equity firm) strategy for this - they have a portfolio Company called MidWest Vision doing this - started with $7m EBITDA platform and have been building it up to $25m+ EBITDA plus.
