Hi there!

I'm a self funded searching and am hiring two, second year MBA students to help me search this summer for a 10 week internship.

I'm looking for feedback from the community utilizing interns?

Does anyone have a summer schedule that they've built? I have a draft but looking to detail it out more. I'd like for the interns to take away some experience as well as help me continue to build my holding company, identify market opportunities and search for acquisitions.

Yes, depending on the level you are hiring (undergrad vs. MBA) you can either make them a schedule or have them draft their own for discussion/review. The general structure should address 1) Weekly Responsibilities (Recurring Tasks/Checklist Items) and###-###-#### Week Internship Goals (Spend x% Time on Developing LBO Model, x% Industry Research, x% List Building, x% Outreach & Copywriting, etc.). The result of this activity will be a reasonably robust plan to better contextualize the roles & responsibilities outlined in whatever initial job description was used.

Chris, I have built a 12-week program for interns, typically focusing on sourcing, modeling, and industry research. Most of these are my own training materials to learn my process, but I also rely on lender materials and paid online trainings (e.g. Training the street).

Along the way I schedule networking times with professionals in fields they are interested to pursue such as banking or consulting.

Happy to share my docs to build from. Email me at redacted
