Sell-side advisors: I make your listings worth more before they list
My family spent 25 years building a business and sold it for $185 million last summer. I sat across the table from the PE group that bought us and watched them discount our EBITDA line by line, with a justification for every dollar. That experience is now my day job, run in reverse. I run Caddy. We go into businesses 12 to 24 months before a sale and fix exactly what buyers price against them: the manual back office, the processes that only live in the owner's head, the payroll doing work that systems should be doing. 90 days per engagement. We build, we deploy, we train the team. Quick anonymized example of the math: a construction company we're working with has 14 admins doing manual data entry at roughly $40k each. Retire 10 of those roles with systems and that's $400k a year recovered. At a six times multiple, that's $2.4 million added to the sale price. Here's why I'm posting: that math is also your math. A more automated, less owner-dependent business lists higher, survives diligence cleaner, and pays its advisor a bigger fee. I'm looking to build referral relationships with a few sell-side advisors who have owners planning exits in the next year or two. If that's you, comment or shoot me a DM. Happy to walk through what we look for and how the economics work on your side of the table.
