What are some of the best ways you all have found to source deals? The criteria we currently have for companies is fairly broad but we are limited to location (we would like to acquire something in the Upstate of South Carolina). Outside of the obvious Bizbuysell and reaching out to local broker websites. What are some ways you all market your firms to current owners looking to exit?

^redacted‌ Professional associations and their online lists are very powerful to find all the contacts within a niche. Since you're targeting a specific region, I imagine there are local business associations that could also be helpful.

These sites tend toward being lower tech, which is great for automated data collection and scraping. That's how we pull in our leads, but we're in the tech business, and not locally constrained, so it's a wider universe.

I would see what local and industry associations you can find and how to get a list of their members. From there, you can use some automation to pre-screen the businesses.
