My self-funded searcher friends who have closed on a business... how did you find your company? Was it an intro from a person in your network? Cold outreach after building out a huge list? Something else? Curious to hear brief versions of your story below!

with the caveat that i haven't actually closed yet but believe it or not, bizbuysell. after a year of searching i happened to open a bizbuysell email that mentioned a printing company in my county. come to find out the company is around the corner from my house. so i guess what i'm saying is def do all the networking and list building but don't completely disregard the listing sites.

I had a subscription to X5. Not sure if it's still around, but it aggregated up all the brokered deals on websites. It made the broker search so much easier.
