Currently reviewing an opportunity in a niche segment of the financial services industry. What are the best tools/tactics to get a better understanding of the offering from the perspective of the overall supply chain, interdependencies with suppliers/vendors....and of course competition? Essentially trying to understand what the "whole pie" looks like. Since it's niche, the IBIS world offering is N/A.

Another option is to pay a firm to connect you with industry experts. The biggest providers are https://glg.it/ and https://www.guidepoint.com/. When working with them it is very important to lay out specifically what you are looking for, and also ask screening questions to the experts to make sure they have the answers you need.

If you don't want to pay as much for a call or have to buy a 15+ credit minimum, you can try Zintro. A lot of searchers use us since we work on a success-based project basis (no minimums and only pay for completed calls) and tend to be 20-50% cheaper than GLG, Guidepoint, AlphaSights, etc.
