Hey dear searchers!

I identified a niche industry and geographic area I want to pursue an acquisition in.
Now, I want to create a list of all players / potential targets with as many details as possible (name/# customers/revenue/reviews/email/phone, etc).

What is the best way to go about it?

I thought about hiring someone via fiverr/upwork to create the list. Any experience / other ideas welcome! I want to do it quick and in high quality.

Thanks

Use Zoominfo to build a search around the geography you are interested in. Start by building a TAM of all the businesses in a particular radius around the zip code you are targeting (e.g., all businesses with <50 employees and <$10M revenue) and then query that list using NAICS codes (figure out which ones translate to your niche) and industry keywords (probably a bit of guessing).

Here comes the hard part: review EVERY listing one-by-one to see if it's a good fit. How old is the business? Is the founder still there? How old are they? Etc...

Then, for each company you are interested in, export the company and relevant contacts to Hubspot. Start emailing, cold calling, sending letters, etc...

^redacted‌, I can help you with this. Searchfunder licenses our database (Data Axle Companies) at the top of the screen, and you can create a list there, however if you need to be more precise with your search, I can help create a highly targeted audience that will include all the details you mentioned in your post and more. You may share the details here with the community, or feel free to DM me and I will run the counts and report back to you on quantity and costs. Have a great day!
