I am a member of the M&A Source, as well as the Chair-Elect for the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). I support Gary Rogers’ invitation to all Searchers who are members of searchfunder.com to attend the M&A Source Conference in May. It will be a great opportunity not only to rub shoulders with the larger middle-market Private Equity Groups but will also expose your acquisition interests to many M&A Advisors who may know of appropriate deals for you. At the conference last year, I met Tim Buckman, a searchfunder.com Searcher. He was pleasantly surprised by his experience and I therefore urge more Searchers to attend. A quick bump on Gary's note... I've attended this conference off and on for several years - the business broker community is really interested learning more about ETA and how to develop relationships with search funds and other alternative buyers. Last year I was on a search fund panel and the feedback from the broker community was so positive that we are doing it again - educating more brokers on the idea that search funds are not only credible buyers, but in some cases the right buyers for the businesses that they are representing.
