Tips/connections on raising capital in metro-Detroit without proof of funds

Hello All,

I am looking for some advice/strategy on (1) raising capital for a self funded search and (2) persuasive responses when asked by Brokers/Sellers for proof of funds?
Has anyone in Michigan been successful with an acquisition through this method?
