On 1 July I am launching my capital raising for a traditional search fund to buy a company in the B2B services and solutions sectors. e.g. HR software and services, expert networks and/or data/research companies. Looking for data on EBITDA multiples. Thank you in advance!

Hi Kylie, I found this website helpful: https://firstpagesage.com/business/marketing-agency-valuation-multiples-and-valuations/. The valuations are based in the US, which usually trade at a premium in my experience. Based on recent advice from authoritative industry contacts (ASX listed CEO) in Australia, service businesses are trading between 3-5x EBITDA. To find deal multiples in Australia, I have found this blog to be very helpful: https://eatonsq.com/blog/. Hope that helps and good luck!

Hey Kylie, not a whole lot of publicly available information in Australia unfortunately.

I'd suggest starting with brokers and m and a advisors in your sector.

I do have business valuation software that has some data on these but it's quite broad so not overly useful in these cases.

Good luck with your fund too. Happy to chat anything search also. Just sent a connection request in LinkedIn.

Cheers
Chris
