UK Market Finance Update

Hi all,

I was speaking with my Finance Broker here for our potential acquisitions here in the UK. I thought I'd write to give UK searchers a brief update:

1. More positive news with rates coming down by 2 percentage points for lending. The outlook is that they are to drop further over the next
6 months moving into early 2025

2. Market activity increase for UK acquisitions across real estate, construction and professional services businesses.

Hi Michael - agree and being from that Industry there's a lot of high risk businesses like scaffolding and contracting on the market currently - really difficult to raise funding or indeed any form of interest as these businesses are typically low asset rich with minimal margins etc.... BUT... there are some good strong businesses in this sector, especially added value businesses, with construction always around 3-5% growth and in addition the Government plans on housing (exactly how is another question!) this sector may not be sexy but just steady!

We have a couple of submission for funding with the GGS but to date no Green Light. Feels like a lot of chat and promotional noise (from the BBG at least) but no solid funding decisions yet made for the MBI / SME market, for us anyway!
