Just a reminder to everyone in the US

If you see an unpaid internship - there is a 99.9% chance it's illegal. The standard for a company to have a legal unpaid internship is extremely high in the US

It's untrue that the employer cannot receive "any material benefit" from an unpaid internship. Yes there are a lot of rules around internships that need to be observed, but it's better to discuss with your attorney than rely on simplistic vague statements on the internet.
