Hi all,

Does anyone have a source for valuation multiples by company size or industry? Ideally looking for a breakdown by each. I searched the site and couldn't find many previous articles, but curious if there is a recent source.

Thanks in advance

As stated above, the BVR valuations and also the Equidam valuations are pretty good.
However, if you are looking for valuations for small businesses making less than $1M or $2M EBITDA, then you need a different multiple and likely need to look at an SDE multiple similar to the chart on this page (ranging from 1x to 5x): https://www.islandbusinessbrokers.com/how-to-establish-the-proper-multiple-of-sde-and-justify-the-valuation/

Also, remember to compare sales and prices yourself.

Be aware that you’ll see mediums. And the mediums are not the most important messages. You’ll see inflated and deflated multiples, thanks to the boost or dump in some sectors due to the pandemic effect. Pricing using multiples is not smart.
